Whether you’ve just moved to Shrewsbury or are returning for another year of study, you will be sure to know that the high street and town centre has a thriving independent business scene and a variety of bars, eateries and retail outlets for you to enjoy on the doorstep from UCS.

Daily Brews is offering all students 15% on all coffee!
The venue is a speciality coffee shop open 8-5pm daily and located in the heart of Shrewsbury – the square! Their ambition is to unlock speciality coffee to all. Each cup is made with care and passion and food is made with fresh, locally produced ingredients to offer a selection of all-day breakfast and brunch options. Great coffee, delicious food and a cosy atmosphere – a great place to relax after lectures.

Hole in the Wall
Hole in the Wall are offering students a variety of food and drink discounts on a daily basis. Over the last few years the venue has had a close relationship with students both as customers and employees. The venue has also been involved in the annual plans of events and generously hosted the 2019 Halloween & LGBTQ+ events with us at the Students’ Union.
As students return to Shrewsbury, Hole in the Wall are offering a variety of discounts on both food and drinks! This includes: 50% off on all main courses, 2-4-1 burgers and burger + drink deals!
In addition to this, the bar runs daily drinks promotions (such as daily 2-4-1 cocktails, draught, spirits + mixer and bottles offers, too) and the best company in town – if they say so themselves!

Nerdy Coffee Co.
This coffee shop is dedicated to building a family community, based on great coffee, amazing times and most importantly, all things nerdy!
They serve a massive drinks range including great coffee, a range of teas, and loads of milkshake flavours! Not only this, their food menu has a huge range of different snacks including: nachos, cakes and hummus and pitta sharers with vegan and gluten free options throughout!
Finally, they have a stacked games room, with over 500 board games and a retail store where you can purchase gaming cards and figures.
Nerdy Coffee Co. are offering students some amazing deals including:
- A FREE standard membership for any University of Chester student (half price game play and event entry)
