VP Warrington – Back to normal

Hi all!

The past few months have been hectic to say that least… don’t you think? It’s safe to say that we have all missed working face to face with each other in the offices. Well, I have recently returned to the office and I feel a massive sense of relief! It finally feels like things are getting back to normal.

My work space is a lot bigger compared to what I was dealing with at home, the office is massive, and it’s almost like I forgot what it looked like! Cooking my dinner in the office kitchen never felt better and I am incredibly happy to be in the office. With a monitor and a laptop, my office setup gives me a sense of freedom, giving me the ability to manage my meetings and emails, quickly and this gives me the capability to manage everything equally and efficiently.

WHAT WAS IT LIKE WORKING FROM HOME?

Working from home was a big experience for me personally. It was getting used to new circumstances, different work space and attending MS Teams meetings regularly. All in all, I think that working from home was good, it was a unique experience and slowly but surely, I adjusted.

The CSU daily catchup meetings were always good fun, it was nice to see what other members of the CSU were getting up to and it was always a friendly start to the day.

I think for myself, it has been a learning curve.  There can be a lot of distractions when you are at home and I have tried my absolute best to focus on working towards my manifesto points and looking to improve Warrington campus for students, right from the comfort of my own home.

BACK TO NORMAL?

I have spoken to many people and many of the assumption things will ever be quite how we knew the world pre-pandemic. People wearing facemasks, staying 2 metres apart, regularly washing hands and/or using hand sanitizer is a normality we will adjust too.

Warrington Campus has procedures in place to ensure all the students and staff are safe within the environment. We are now counting down till the students return to campus for Freshers’ Week and me personally, I am super excited!

Overall, I enjoyed working from home, but when working from the office, there is a lot more space for me to crack on and make Warrington an even better place for students.

See you soon.

Sam.
