Originally launched in 2022 as part of CSU’s Cost of Living Campaign, Toast Tuesdays was a supportive initiative to ensure students don’t go hungry and are set up for the day, as we know many of you were feeling the pinch.
This academic year, our Voice Team have launched Speak Week, a termly week dedicating to going out there and collecting feedback on what matters to our students the most.
From the results of our last Speak Week where we were discussing all things money – we discovered that 64% of you had experienced financial difficulty, and that for most of you, your student loan or other funding doesn’t cover all of your living expenses.
That’s why we have relaunched Toast Tuesdays for this term. Every Tuesday morning from 8am to 9am, we’re providing free toast (and spreads) and tea and coffee in the CSU building 😎 It’s not much, we know, but it is something and means you can come in from the cold, have a chat and grab something to eat before your lectures.
The first couple of Toast Tuesdays have gone down a treat - we’ve got loads of types of bread and spreads, and hot drinks too. Thank you to the Co-Op in Hoole for donating lots of products!
