VP Student Life Candidate: Terzungwe Emmanuel Agune

Hello, my name is TERZUNGWE EMMANUEL AGUNE, and I am vying for the post of Student's Union Vice-President life. I am an international student and a great humanitarian. I have worked for the United Nations to create a safe and harmonious environment for the people of my country.

I have served in different capacity in students Unionis in time past as the Departmental Electoral General Secretary, Faculty Electoral Chairman, Chief of Staff to the SU President and was the second Runner up for the SU President Election in Benue State University and am currently the Student Council Representative

for black, Asia, Ethnic minority at University of Chester. I am a passionate individual who would like to use my vast experience to serve for the welfare of students and to ensure inclusivity, not just for internationonal students, but everyone here at the University of Chester.

If I am elected, I will advocate for the following:

· An international/cultural annual fair. This is a community and platform where we can connect and enjoy a day of jampacked fun. We will be experiencing various cultural traditions including attire, food and sustainable clothes stalls, quiz/games night, international sports, and music/dancing. This will provide ample opportunity for everyone to socialize and to explore the many different cultures we have in our world.

· Accommodation shall be easily accessible for international students, especially those who are joining us with their families. This will be affordable and within a reasonable distance from campus. Airport pick up for students will also be a priority, where I will be asking for more transparent instructions when new students are entering the United Kingdom as University of Chester students.

· Welfare (cost of living) days will be expanded to cover the full week (Monday-Friday).

· I will be revamping the healthcare access that is currently on offer for international students, with a new updated directory which will house important information about local doctor surgeries and dentists. There will also be a main point of contact within the University for students to drop in and ask for further advice.

· I will be creating a new employment regime, where students will be able to access employment and gain a DBS check. More opportunities to create a CV will be available. But, also, students will be signposted to the entrepreneur opportunities that we have on offer here at the University. I will be providing an opportunity for international students to take driving lessons with a local driving school, which can further enhance employment opportunities.

I know how incredibly busy everyone is, but please make sure you remember to go out and vote. We need your help to make the proposed changes.
