This Big Idea was reviewed by Student Council and this specific motion did not meet the criteria for voting. Student Council did vote on an amendment that all minority exclusionary groups should be barred from attending Freshers Fair. There was insufficient evidence to show that the Freemasons as an organisation exclude marginalised groups.
As a diverse student body, this type of group can be damaging to students who identify as BAME (Black, Asian and minority Ethnic) and LGBTQ+.
