Hello! I hope you had a nice April and happy (belated) Easter to those who celebrate.

We have all had an incredibly busy April as an Officer team...

We started off strong with our Bren Bikes event. Myself and Amy from the Sustainability team worked incredibly hard, so I was so glad to hear it was a big success! The weather was shining, PC Dan Pheasey talked about bike safety, and students got their bikes fixed up which was extremely beneficial! Please let me know if you enjoyed it and would like to see it again, or if you have any feedback about the event.

Then myself and Adedayo headed to Lincoln to attend the NUS England Event. It was brilliant to see so many other SU Officers and to be able to understand more about the wider student experience. We learnt so much about what issues international students are having at Universities across the country and we now know what we could push for to make your experience better!

After this, we both attended TEDx at the Kingsway campus, which was an incredibly valuable conference - thanks to Paul Bissell for hosting! It was so nice to see so many students attend too. The sustainability concept was a brilliant topic especially as it is so relevant; I am looking forward to seeing what topic they pick next year!

I then hosted my Easter Quiz at 200 Degrees, which was great fun! Students won tons of prizes including vouchers for Escapism, Picturehouse tickets and a hamper from Abbey Student rentals. I had a lot of fun making the quiz questions, so I am so glad that the last one was such a success.

This time round, Chester Students' Forum was in my hands! We invited the Garden Quarter Councillors – Paul, Ben and Katrina – to the CSU for students to ask questions about parking and waste. Thank you Ben for your presentation, which students can watch back on our YouTube channel.

I then worked with Paul Fielder and LCR pride (Thank you Kriss!) to get our building and staff team You're Safe Here accredited which was a brilliant success! Now to get the University's bar accredited too...

Finally, Me and Adedayo were on Annual Leave for a week while Lily was cooking up a storm. She has started a cooking show called 'Stirring the Pot with Lily' as one of her key priorities this  and next year is the cost of living crisis. The show includes low-cost meals that don’t break your budget and quick and easy recipes that fit into a busy schedule. She has also recorded a new episode of the Student Experience Podcast, so check it out on Spotify!

Finally, Reaseheath, who is one of the University partners, came to visit us to see how we can collaborate on future projects and events.

As you can see, it was a very busy month for us Officers! Check in next month for more updates. If you need any of the Officers, feel free to send us an email, message us on Instagram (@csuofficerteam) or pop into the office.

Have a great rest of term everyone!

Summer x
