Increase locker availability on all campuses on a short loan term with a charge for late returns

As a commuting student carrying a heavy bag holding bags, devices and chargers, I am often in need of a safe space to store my belongings while navigating between buildings around the campus.  Many times I have tried unsuccessfully to secure an empty locker, which has left me with no option but to keep my bag with me, causing neck and back strain.

Currently, locker availability on the Exton Park campus does not seem adequate for the number of students who require access, which is evidenced by the lack of availability even at 07.30.

My suggestion is to increase short loan locker availability on all campuses on a booking system, which can be accessed by presenting a student ID card to library staff in exchange for a locker key.  Lockers can be issued as a next-day loan, which will expire at midnight, after which students are charged £1 per hour with a maximum charge of £15.

Lost locker keys would incur a £20 charge.

Facilities at the University should be accessible to all students, however, due to such low availability, users might feel they have no choice other than to keep the lockers they have secured over long periods, leaving many students without access.
