Hello everyone, Adedayo here, your VP Education! I hope you are all well. November has been a fantastic month for us, with lots of celebration, progress, and student engagement. We started the month by celebrating the Class of 2024 at their graduation ceremonies. Congratulations to everyone who crossed the stage, your hard work and dedication paid off!
We cannot forget Speak Week, where students actively shared their feedback and thoughts on the subject matter of MONEY. If you missed November's Speak Week, don’t worry, you will have another chance to share your thoughts during the next one in January, which will be all about how we can make CSU work for you. Make sure you don’t miss out!
We also hosted the CSU FIFA Tournament, which was a huge success. Students came together for thrilling matches and great vibes, with our winner taking home a £50 Amazon voucher. A big thank you to everyone who participated and supported the event. We might host another one soon, so stay tuned!
In November, we also ran our Consent Campaign, led by Lily, raising awareness and fostering conversations among students about the importance of creating a safe and respectful environment for all.
Alongside this, we have been roaming across our campuses, speaking one-on-one with students to gather academic feedback. Hearing directly from the source (students) has been very productive, and we are committed to ensuring your voices are heard and acted upon by the University.
We hosted another Lily’s Pad event – Tackling loneliness (one of our shared goals) by bringing students together in a fun space.
We continued our training sessions for our Student Voice Representatives (SVRs), equipping them on how to effectively gather and report feedback from their peers. A big shout-out to all SVRs for your dedication and enthusiasm in making a difference for students!
Adding to the month’s excitement, we attended the Times Higher Education Awards, where Chester Business School won the Business School of the Year Award. This incredible recognition is a testament to the hard work and excellence of the entire Chester Business School team.
Finally, we wrapped up the month with the Reclaim the Night march, where Officers and CSU staff walked through the city centre with CSASS, Student Services and loads of other people to take a stand against gender-based violence and unsafe streets.
That’s a wrap for November! From your officer team, we are wishing you a Christmas that is merry and bright! 🌟
