Lily Watson

Hello everyone!

You may have previously seen me on and around campus dressed as a condom, giving out freebies, on your social media creating many videos for you or even campaigning for your rights and the changes you want. I am your current Chester Students’ Union President, and I am re-running in the elections to continue in my role as President to keep the message of my work in engaging with students and taking an active approach in making your student experience the best it can be.

I have spent the last year learning the system and how to “manipulate” the system to get what we want! This next year I would look to draw on this experience to get the best outcomes possible for you. So, what will I look to do?

I will look to ….

  • Create more funding available for Sports and Societies, making opportunities easily accessible to all.
  • Have more social spaces available with you in mind – a better bar, wellbeing hubs and hang out zones across all campuses.
  • Make a wide range of networking opportunities available. Helping build you career readiness.
  • Transport links readily available for students commuting and accessing different sites across Chester/Birkenhead and Warrington.
  • Have timetables that work for you! No more waiting around for lectures!
  • Make Cost of Living support a priority. Food pantries, hardship funding and increase employment opportunities.
  • Continue campaign work around Anti-spiking, Sexual Health and Guidance and Wellbeing support.
  • Create a community on campus that allows both Home and International students to have a sense of belonging and reduce loneliness.
  • Continue “Lily’s Pad” monthly free events for students to enjoy.
  • Above all champion your voice for the change you want and need.

I am deeply invested in making your student life the best it can be. As a previous course rep, department rep and committee member of a new society I have constantly engaged with the union and have a deep connection to always fight for your rights, your wellbeing, and your future.

I will bring my passion, dedication, and a vision for a more inclusive, supportive, and empowered student community. So be sure to stick to what you know and VOTE LILY FOR SU PRESDIENT!
