Thank you all for an incredible first term! Our societies are all smashing it this year, having passed 1,100 members, you’re very close to beating last year’s total. We've seen 28 new societies set up this term and they have certainly hit the ground running!
The Society+ Award competition has also received great engagement with over 700 points having been awarded across our societies already!
A reminder to all societies (and committees) of CSU’s holiday closure and that the opportunities team won’t be available from 20th December until the 6th January. We hope you all have a wonderful break and see you in 2025!
Congratulations to the Drama & Drama Tech societies for hosting their pantomime over the weekend (14th –15th) in the School of Education building, showing off all their members’ talents and what their society has to offer.
We are excited to announce the opening of a new MINDFULNESS society at the University of Chester! The society's aim is to teach key mindfulness techniques, provide students with an authentic, safe space to practice meditation, yoga and ancient breathing practices. Each session is a little bit different, allowing us to teach a range of ways to help still the mind, relax the body, and become less distracted by worries about the future.
We are also planning crafting sessions, and a sound healing session held by an external teacher. We teach for free and want to make the joys of yoga, meditation and mindfulness available for everyone, especially students!
We meet every Tuesday at 4pm, though this may change if we get demand for multiple days. Reach out to us on Instagram at @uocmindfulnesssoc or email us at csumindfulnesssoc@chester.ac.uk to express your interest, confirm your place at our sessions, or let us know if an alternative time would be better for you.
We hope to see you soon! Namaste!
The Evergreen Society were out and about last week on the 11th December promoting their society and handing out free hot chocolate! If you’re interested in sustainability action, have a look at their society.
